Trading for Good: Good Businesses are Better Businesses
Unified Communications & IT service provider Excell are delivering a government backed project that helps smaller businesses create and build upon their reputation and helps them to tackle the challenges they face. The project named Trading for Good will launch in February.
What is Trading for Good?
Trading for Good is a free digital service that helps smaller businesses create and build upon their reputation. At the heart of the service, the system will provide individual businesses with the opportunity to create their own profile to showcase the good work that they are carrying out in their local communities. The service not only demonstrates this great work but also improves search rankings and local publicity. What's more, Trading for Good also offers free toolkits and advice on lots of ideas to help businesses with everyday operational headaches and how to connect with their local communities and customers.
Why should I be Trading for Good?
We all know that doing something nice feels good - but did you know it can also help your small business grow? Reputation is vital for success in business and doing something good in the community builds upon goodwill which everyone appreciates. Trading for Good is free, easy to use and is a great way to tell your customers and neighbours what your business does over and above the day job. Be proud to share how much you do for your local community.
By joining in and sharing your stories, Trading for Good will help you build your business reputation, this will make it that bit easier for customers and the community to find you and hear about what you do.
What's in it for my business?
Trading for Good is working hard to promote your business, engage local media and encourage customers to choose a business based on social responsibility. We can also provide you with lots of useful toolkits and advice to help get you started.
Why? Trading for Good is made up of not-for-profit groups of people and organisations who want to show what's 'Great' in Britain when it comes celebrating the way smaller businesses are building our economy and helping society. We have the support of a large number of trade organisations which allows us to be able to provide the system FREE to all smaller businesses.
How does it work?
Excell are building a database of companies like who are 'Trading for Good'. While the service will be a central point where you can publicise information, it will also be tightly integrated into social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn. Getting heard in today's digital world is difficult enough so we're making it just that bit easier. The target is to have 750,000 SME companies trading for good by February 2013.
Trading for Good is helping to deliver the vision for Every Business Commits for smaller and medium sized businesses and is supported by Government.
