BCC and Blackberry announce the East of England regional winner of the Business of the Year Award
Excell Group PLC, a member of Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, has been announced as the regional winner of the Business of the Year Award in the East of England for the Chamber Awards 2007.
The company (a telecommunications firm), won the Blackberry sponsored award because the judges were struck by the company's success to date but also because the directors had such great vision and ambition for the future too. The company plans to increase revenue significantly over the next year and to build upon its already impressive 8,000 customer base.
Sarah Probert, Customer Marketing Director, EMEA said;
"Many SMEs are using BlackBerry smartphones so that they can make the most of their limited and precious time - so we at RIM are acutely aware of the challenges that face this size of organisation. Many congratulations to Excell Group PLC on winning the award for Business of the Year. It is great testament to the work they do in the telecommunications sector."
Excell Group PLC will now go through to national judging and the chance to win the top prize of £50,000, courtesy of Royal Bank of Scotland. The National Winners of the Chamber Awards 2007 will be announced at a Gala Dinner the Victoria and Albert Museum, London on the 29th November 2007.
Peter Mileham, President of the BCC, said;
"Excell Group PLC is a business that really stands out from the crowd. The competition was fierce. Making it to the shortlist is tough and winning is reserved for only the very best. Congratulations."
