Presence

What is Presence?

Presence is the ability of an individual to display levels of availability - such as 'Available', 'Away' or 'Busy' - to indicate whether or not they can be contacted.

For someone trying to contact that person, the knowledge of their presence gives an instant indication as the whether they will be able to accept a call, an email or an Instant Message.

Excell and Presence

Excell's SIP trunking provides full Presence capability. SIP Trunks allow your businesses to retain the advantages of your existing telecoms equipment, whilst gaining the additional functionality and benefits of IP Telephony. A feature of SIP from Excell is Call Management, an integrated facility that enables users to make and accept telephone calls, and change telephone settings from within Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.

The toolbar delivers the following features and benefits to users:

  • Microsoft Outlook edition (CMT) has key integration features such as outbound click-to-dial from Outlook contacts and right-click to dial from email messages 
  • Internet Explorer edition (CMP) allows users to highlight web page number and right-click to dial
  • Call notifications with caller identification from Excell and Microsoft Outlook directories
  • Full call control (answer or soft pickup, hold, end, 3-way conference and transfer or retrieve voicemail)
